March 2015 - Little Einsteins Nurseries
The Inventors (age 3 – 5′s) from Little Einsteins Nursery in Perth have been to Glendevon to collect frog spawn. Last year they watched the frog spawn they collected turn into tadpoles and eventually the frogs were released at Glendevon so they were delighted to return this year to collect more spawn which they will watch evolving once more.
The children in Little Einsteins Perth nursery were all very excited that they were going to be able to see the eclipse last week. All the children went out into the garden. We made pin hole projectors and used colanders to view the eclipse in safety. Instead of circular reflections they saw crescent moon shapes much to their amazement. The children had great fun, especially when it got a little colder and darker.
On Friday 13th March we had a very busy day at Nithsdale Nursery. We were raising funds for the Red Nose Day charity and for the Brain Tumour Charity. We had a cake sale on the day, children were to dress in red and we had a guess the baby competition where parents were to guess the name of the staff member from their baby photo. We had two winners and would like to thank all who participated as we raised an impressive £90.00.
We also had a Mothers Day party and invited all the mummies along to take part . We had cakes and little treats that the children had prepared.
For St Patricks Day we had Lara who was well dressed for the occasion! The children took part in painting pots of gold over the rainbow.
The budding artists at Little Einsteins in Perth have proudly exhibited their art work in the nursery. All the children were encouraged to take part which became great fun and some real masterpieces were created. Parents and carers were most impressed with the Exhibition and were able to buy the work with all funds raised donated to the Brain Tumour Charity The categories for the various age groups were:-
0-1 – Shapes, 1-2′s – Under the sea, 2-3′s – Lost in space and 3-5′s – Wild West.

Little Einsteins Nursery in Perth took part in Red Nose Day fun last week. Nursery Manager Tracey said “We had great fun either wearing our pyjamas or spots and stripes. The Inventors set up their own baking stall and managed to raise an impressive £76.00″. Well Done to everyone who organised the fund raising and to everyone who supported us by donating to this worthy cause.
Little Einsteins Kirkcaldy held a competition where each room had to decorate their door as a story. Competition was intense as staff and children battled to see who could create the best door.
Our cook, Stacey judged the entries. Sparklers came first (pictured above) with their Gruffalo door, 3-5s were second with “Smiley Shark” and Twinkles 1 were third with “Peppa’s First Pet”. They each got a certificate and books as prizes! All the other rooms got a certificate of participation and a book. The children and staff also dressed up as their favourite book characters.
