Glasgow Pollokshields Archives - Little Einsteins Nurseries
Nithsdale Nursery organized lots of fun activities to raise cash for Red Nose Day. The staff brought in their baby pictures for the “Guess the Baby” competition which was won by Sean’s mum who correctly identified each one. Well Done Fiona!!
The raffle was won by Jessica with the prize - a delicious Malteaser cake made by Natasha’s mum. The 3 – 5′s room helped sell all the cakes and baking brought in by the parents.
All rooms carried out different activities on the day – wearing red clothes, crazy hairstyles etc as well as taking part in different sponsored activities. The 1 – 2′s and 2 – 3′s had a sponsored danceathon and the 3 – 5′s had a sponsored football match.
The monies raised are still coming in but so far the nursery has raised over £1000 – a massive amount! Well done and thanks to everyone who took part or donated for such a great cause.
We also celebrated Mothers Day with tea for the mums.
Zoe Morris was the clear winner of Nithsdale Nursery’s “Employee of the Year” award for 2016.
More than half of the votes, which were submitted by parents of the children who attend the nursery, were for Zoe. Some of the comments below make it clear why they thought Zoe should be Employee of the Year:-
- Zoe always provided the best care for my wee man, he loves her to bits. When I ask him who his favourite lady is he says “Zoe” (even above mum!!).
- Because she’s always very helpful, loving and supportive.
- For being a loving and caring key worker who is lots of fun.
- Lovely with the children, well loved! Always polite, professional and cheerful in her job.
Well Done Zoe!! and along with the acknowledgement of her commitment, Zoe will receive an extra weeks annual leave during 2017.
The parents and children from the Inventors room at Little Einsteins Nithsdale Nursery were invited to take part in a “Big Bake Off” competition.
Everyone was invited to make a cake at home and enter it into the competition. Staff and parent’s from across the nursery then tasted and scored the cakes on taste, presentation and effort. Parents arrived for the presentation in the afternoon where the top three bakers received prizes. All children received a certificate for taking part.
Great fun and delicious too!!
Some of the staff at Nithsdale Nursery now understand what the attraction is between children and mud!
Manager, Tanya says “On Saturday 17th September a team of us took part in a pretty mud run at Bellahouston to raise money for Cancer Research. We had an absolute ball and raised funds for a good cause. Sponsors are still coming in but we will update with a final figure soon.”
Well done ladies and I hope the mud washes out of these clothes!!
A wee selfie at the end of their gruelling challenge – mission accomplished.
All the staff at Little Einsteins Nithsdale Nursery would like to say farewell and good luck to our Graduates as they set off for school this August. To celebrate their time here with us at little Einsteins we held a graduation ceremony for families of the graduates. Great fun was had by all although there were a few tears too!
They are photographed below looking proud with their Certificates and in their graduation gowns.
Good Luck Inventors. Please remember to come back and visit.
There will be a photographer at Little Einsteins Nithdale Nursery on Friday, 29th April 2016 taking photographs of the children. Any child who doesn’t attend the nursery on a Friday is welcome to come along with their parents but please confirm and arrange a time slot with our office prior to the date.

Jessica Acosta is Little Einsteins Pollokshields Nursery Employee of the Year 2015. Jessica was nominated by many parents giving very positive feedback for many reasons of why she should get this. Jessica is very deserving of this and will get an extra week’s annual leave during 2016.
